What size are you looking for and what are you planning on using it for? Also, are you using it in fresh or salt water?

    Thanks.

In that price range, you can’t go wrong with an Abu Garcia.

In general, Shimano. But you do need to elaborate a little on what the reels primary use will be.

I usually say Shimano makes the best spinning reels but I won an Abu Garcia Soron SX40 and it is pretty bad azz. They make a model the STX which is about $129.00 and is the step up from the SX that I have. It comes with an extra spool that is made just for superlines. These are the Revo’s of Abu Garcia’s spinning reels. I put a link below for you to check out. If not your thing Shimano make some very high quality spinning reels in your price range.

Search between shimano, daiwa and Penn.
    I got a deal on a $250 reel for $150 but it’s not my
    ‘go to reel’.

hey man, a question like that is kinda broad just for the fact that there are different sizes and different types of reels out there for different applications. but i am guessing that you are wanting a reel for bass fishing. i will go ahead and tell you that you dont have to spend a lot of money on a reel to have top quality reel. you sure can get a great one for 150 bucks but you can get one for 70-80 dollars that is just as good if not better. there is one type of spinner that i use for bass fishing and i will not stray from that brand. i love the pflugher brand reels. great quality, smooth casting as well as smooth retrieving. it is an all around great great reel. i use the pflugher presidential series reel. there are other pflugher series that are a little cheaper than the presidential series that are great reels too. i tell people that quality doesn’t always comes with a big price and a big price doesnt mean quality..

hope this helps you out a bit good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience

i found this link and i would have to say that the price actually dropped. this is a good bit less than i payed for mine. 60 bucks is an outstanding price for this reel.
