What is a quality baitcast reel for middle of the line price?
Tbone asked:
What would be a good baicast reel for freshwater fishing, for $80-$120 range?

Abu Garcia makes a pretty decent product for the price. I use a 5500 and 6500 for Muskie fishing and have used the exact same two reels for almost ten years with basic minimal care.
I personally own a Quantam accurist which will run 50 to 70 dollars. Very smooth and you get the most bang for your buck with a flippin switch. Diawa makes a very good reel. One thing not to forget when purchasing a reel is even if you have the best reel but go cheap on the rod you will be very disappointed. The line can also make or break a fishing day. Buy the best your budget allows because if you go cheap you will end up paying for it in backlashes.
I would agree the Abu Garcia makes a quality reel on the low side of your price range. I use a 6600 with a bait clicker for cat fishing. I also own serval 5600 I use for muskie and strippers. A great reel for the money!
i agree with DaChazze like the Quantum Kevin VanDam Signature Series Baitcast Reels in particular, they are great quality and have a long live because they very durable, the hold a lot of line and have great casting distance.

go with a diawa, atleast thats my opinion.
just things to look for are
infinite anti-reverse
the more bearings, the smoother
stainless steel bearings, or something corrosion resistant
